Disneyland Paris - Media LIVE!

Our A Level Media students have just returned from a fantastic four days at Disneyland Paris, where they attended the annual Media LIVE! Conference. Media LIVE! is a fantastic opportunity for students to learn more about the many different paths a career in media could take, from Journalism to Film and from TV to New Media, this event aims to inspire the next generation of media creatives and allows them to see work from specialists in their field. 

Mrs Sargent and Miss Owen said, “The conference gave the students an insight into the different careers in the media industry, as well as getting a behind the scenes look at Disney’s marketing strategies. They also had a unique opportunity to network with the speakers, with some of our students showing great initiative and confidence by reaching out and meeting creator and podcast co-host of ‘Happy Hour’, Stevie White. The group had a lot of fun and were a credit to the school.”

Speakers at the conference included journalist and documentary maker, Jenny Kleeman and Arnaud Gayet, who shared his impressive career journey from studying Foreign Applied Language at Loughborough University, to becoming the Social Media Executive for Disneyland Paris. 

Upon their return, Eva in Year 13 shared, “The Media LIVE! conference was extremely captivating, with all 3 guests bringing unique and intriguing stories regarding their careers in Media. Disneyland was also fun and Miss Owen and Mrs Sargent made sure we were safe and enjoying ourselves.”

We are delighted that students enjoyed this action-packed four-day event and have returned inspired to pursue their dream career in the Media industry!
